General area surrounding the College

Running alongside Motions Road is a track for restored vintage trams from the nearby Museum of Transport and Technology. The tram track runs around the perimeter of the Western Springs Park. The trams travel from the Museum to the Auckland Zoo. The Zoo is situated opposite the College on Motions Road.

West Lynn and nearby streets

The nearest shopping area to the College (1 km) is West Lynn, located on the other side of the Zoo. This is a suburb of many old ("old" for NZ that is) restored wooden houses built in the first years of the 20th Century. The streets are typically lined with deciduous European trees that lose their leaves in Winter.
