Western Springs College School Development

Objective

To provide the very best educational opportunities to Western Springs College students by providing first rate learning facilities and resources.

Why do we have it?

We are very proud of the level of education that is delivered at Western Springs College; however, we need your support to continue to provide the very best education for our students.
School donations and Government funding are no longer sufficient to cover all the costs of running a school, and so the development office exists to ensure the ongoing success and improvement of Western Springs College

What is School Development?
It's about building a community of interest in the school.
• Developing an alumni to reconnect with all our ex students and teachers
• Building a business community to support Western Springs College
• Promoting Western Springs College to the community
• Developing and fostering philanthropic giving and sponsorship opportunities to support the school

Special projects – make a donation to something you are passionate about

We currently have three special projects occurring at Western Springs.

1. ICT development programme. This is about developing a virtual class environment, so that our students can work smarter and more efficiently.

We would like to extend a very big THANK-YOU to those that made a special donation towards this project in January 2011. We raised $5000 which has gone part way towards purchasing a class set of netbooks.

We aim to ultimately have ten class sets of netbooks in the school - that is one netbook between four students. We have currently secured three sets.
If you would like to help us to achieve our goal – donate a netbook or make a contribution towards one. The cost of one netbook is $390.

Payment can be made by cash, cheque or eftpos at the office or make an online payment – deposit details ASB 12-3020-0333033-00. (Please ensure you put your name and netbook in as the reference)

2. The New Sports Centre The sports centre is the home for our very successful sports academy. The facility will be part of our new gym and provide specialised spaces for our students to excel in their chosen sports, both academically and physically.

3. The TAPAC extension
We are making our very successful TAPAC even better. The extension aims to make our existing spaces bigger and more flexible so that we can attract more performing arts groups and have the capacity for bigger audiences.
• Additional seating capacity to the flexible theatre
• Completing the outdoor stage and amphitheatre
• Additional flexible studio/performance spaces
• Improvements to the lobby, bathroom and access that are appropriate for a public facility

If you are inspired by any of these projects, make a contribution. You could consider a $1 a day or a lump sum payment. Remember to tell us which project you are supporting.
To arrange payment by cheque or a regular donation by Automatic Payment, please contact the office 09 815 6730

• a comprehensive sports academy programme
• school wide performing arts programme
• comprehensive student health services
• development for our IT programme

We really appreciate the payment of your donations:
