School Development – Starship Phone Swap
WSC college students have currently collected 89 old mobiles. 55 points have been redeemed for a Sony Cyber-shot Camera and 34 points have been banked. We only need 21 more mobiles for a second camera. It's easy, collect up your old mobiles and bring them to the office

The Starship Mobile Phone Appeal raises funds for Starship's Air Ambulance Service, which has been doing an outstanding job in the aftermath of the Christchurch earthquake. By donating your old phone you'll be helping Starship raise the $1.5 million needed to keep this service running each year.

Year-round the Service rushes medical experts to life threatening emergencies around the country where they stablise the child and allow them to be brought safely to Starship to receive the care they need.

Starship School Swap – Old Phones for Rewards
It’s simple – collect up all your old mobile phones and drop them off to the school office.

The “Phones for Rewards” programme enables students to play a valuable role in a nationwide fundraising campaign for Starship’s Air Ambulance Service, while also increasing their awareness of environmental issues, and community giving.

The good news is that our school gets to benefit too!

The programme works by our school co-ordinating the collection of as many old mobile phones as possible.  These phones are donated to the programme and then Starship Children’s Hospital, together with its recycling partner, can turn these old phones into cash to help children from all around the country.

Depending on how many phones our school collects, there are some great rewards we can claim, including interactive whiteboards, projectors, PCs, books, handycams, sports gear and cameras.

The more phones our students collect, the more rewards we can earn for our school.

So get collecting!
