Goal One
To attain the highest academic, cultural and sporting standards of student achievement
This will be achieved by:

improving academic results at all levels |

improving academic results for Maori students at all levels |

improving Pacific student leavers’ qualifications |

improving boys’ achievement at all levels |
| e) |
catering for the needs of gifted, talented and very able students |

reviewing and strengthening careers education |
Goal Two
To provide quality teaching across all curriculum areas
This will be achieved by:

providing learning experiences which enable students to develop the competencies and dispositions of independent lifelong learners |
| b) |
using assessment data to inform teaching and learning strategies |
| c) |
improving teaching practice through appraisal processes oriented towards the use of effective pedagogies |
| d) |
using the language of the Key Competencies in reporting |
Goal Three
To develop a safe, inclusive staff teaching and student learning environment
This will be achieved by:

provide the training and opportunities to develop student leaders’ skills and facilitate their contribution to the school and wider community |

strengthen student participation in the ongoing development of a safe and healthy school culture |
| c) |
raising awareness and developing ownership of WSC Safe School philosophies, policies and practices |

To provide a learning environment enhanced by up-to-date educational facilities and services
This will be achieved by:

providing students and staff with modernised teaching and learning facilities |

bring grounds conditions up to an acceptable standard |

embedding sustainability practices |

To strengthen school-home and school-community partnerships
This will be achieved by:

ensuring informative and timely school-home communication |

working in partnership with parent groups |

maintaining WSC as the first choice school for a majority of local families |

encouraging community pride in the performance of the local college |

developing international educational and cultural links in the global community |
