Ngā Manu Kōrero ki te Waitematā
Ngā Puna o Waiōrea did exceptionally well last week at the annual Manu Kōrero regional competition held at Ngāti Whātua ki Orākei. We had four representatives who managed to place in the Top 3 for all 4 catagories,
Te Hei Pounamu Simpkins - 3rd Overall Speaker in the Junior English (Sir Turi Carroll) section
Uenuku Papuni Abbott - 2nd Overall Speaker in the Junior Māori (Te Rāwhiti Ihaka) section
Rangiunuhia Ngatipa - 3rd Overall and best female speaker in the Senior Māori (Pei Te Hurinui Jones) section
Piripi Gordon - 1st Place Impromptu speech - 1st Place Prepared speech- 1st Place Overall speaker in the Senior English (Korimako) section. Piripi will also be representing our region at the annual National Manu Korero competition hosted in New Plymouth, Taranaki in September this year.
